The development of social responsibility activities in Softline began several years ago with financial support to social organizations and charity funds, orphanages, child healthcare, and temple reconstruction. As time went by, new social projects were added to the corporate portfolio: Softline became a participant in the “Charity instead of souvenirs” initiative of CAF Russia charity fund and started to offer comprehensive support to the War Album social project (http://waralbum.ru) – a digital archive of World War II and Great Patriotic War photos.
During the last several years, our company has been actively helping the “Voskresenie” charity fund, which implements a special programme aimed at providing modern personal hearing aids to all children with hardness of hearing. In September 2010, Softline rendered charitable assistance to the children from the “Sergiyev Posad Deaf-Blind Orphan Home under the Federal Agency for Healthcare and Social Development” Federal Budgetary Institution. Within the framework of all-Russian charity programme “The sounds of happiness” Softline supported financially the acquisition of hearing aids for the residents of this orphanage.
Within the framework of charity programmes, our company also provides software free-of-charge. For instance, in April this year, Softline made a gift to Nursery School No.170 in Ufa, one of “Istok” project participants, software such as ESET NOD 32, Microsoft Windows 7 Starter, Windows XP Professional, Microsoft Office 2007, ABBYY FineReader, WinRAR and ABBYY Lingvo.
Knowing that Softline is an authorized Quark partner, the International Cinema School of Moscow addressed our company in May 2010, asking us to provide QuarkXPress 8 software to unleash the creative potential of the school alumni. Softline supported the cinema school and made a free donation of 7 licenses for QuarkXPress 8, Full Education, Europe East Edition, Russia.
The social responsibility its employees plays a major role in the development of Softline social policy: they regularly take part in charity projects for orphanages. For example, in August 2008 they collected goods, clothes and toys for Moscow Orphanage No.2.
In July of the present year, the corporate representative office in Minsk collected goods, clothes and toys for children in orphanages and boarding schools, which were invited to “From Heart to Heart”, the concert marathon, which included a performance by many Belarusian and Russian stars.
At the end of July 2011, the Softline employees finished the charity collection of necessary goods for the Specialized Infant Orphanage. Thanks to Softline employees, they received clothes, toys, hygiene products and domestic chemicals.
Social projects that are carried out by both the company and its employees have become a tradition. Within the framework of such projects, the employees of Softline branches in Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Chelyabinsk, Irkutsk, Izhevsk, Kazan, Khabarovsk, Nizhniy Novgorod, Novosibirsk, Perm, Rostov-on-Don, Samara, Saratov, Surgut, Taganrog, Tyumen, Ufa, Ulyanovsk, Vladivostok, Volgograd, Voronezh, Yaroslavl, Yekaterinburg have visited orphanages for 3 years in a row, dressed as Santa Claus assistants, bringing children gifts, sweets, clothes, toys and pharmaceuticals. In many cities, the relations between Softline employees and these orphanages became so close, that our workers regularly visit them with their friends and families, not just at New Year.
Last year, another good tradition was added to this one: socially responsible teambuilding during the celebration of the corporate anniversary. A new corporate party format was introduced: a wave of good deeds spanned all over Russia. For Softline employees, July 2010 was remarkable for the memorable corporate celebrations held under the slogan “The good deeds of Softline”. Socially responsible events were held in Softline representative offices in Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Chelyabinsk, Kazan, Khabarovsk, Novosibirsk, Perm, Samara, Surgut, Tyumen, Ufa, Volgograd, Voronezh, Yaroslavl, Yekaterinburg, Barnaul, Omsk, Orenburg, Stavropol. In the future, all corporate parties in Russia will be held under such a format.
As a company with a social conscience, Softline regularly conducts two ecological campaigns: collecting and sending for recycling used office paper (since the moment this campaign began we have collected more than 6 tons of office paper) and have been collecting used accumulator batteries.
Each year, our company organizes several Blood Drives, when employees contribute towards solving the problem of donor blood shortage.
Currently, Softline Group is also starting to cooperate with the World Wildlife Fund, one of the largest international public charity organizations, which has been protecting wildlife and the natural environment all over the world for more than 40 years. Each year, the World Wildlife Fund implements more than 1200 ecological projects and attracts the attention of millions of people to the problems of environmental protection and possible solutions. Now, Softline employees can also take part in this cause.
